Chick-fil-A Beavercreek, OH — Reinvestment & Renovation Project
Woodbine Construction undertook a substantial reinvestment and renovation project at Chick-fil-A’s standalone restaurant in Beavercreek, Ohio. Work included a dual-lane drive-thru canopy, building expansion, structural and finish upgrades, new kitchen and back-of-house installations, and more — resulting in an updated, modern restaurant facility aligned with current operational and customer-experience needs.
This case study outlines the project’s challenge, objectives, solution, and outcomes — and demonstrates Woodbine’s competence in delivering full-scale restaurant renovation, reinforcing their authority and trustworthiness in the hospitality construction sector.
The Challenge
- The existing Beavercreek Chick-fil-A — a 17-year-old facility — was operating beyond its original capacity, with increased drive-thru demand and evolving customer expectations.
- The restaurant layout and infrastructure no longer met modern throughput requirements: kitchen space and drive-thru capacity were insufficient, leading to delays and constrained service.
- The existing facility needed a comprehensive update: structural, mechanical, interior finishes, and service flow improvements — while minimizing downtime and disruption.
Objectives
Woodbine Construction worked with the restaurant owner’s team with the following goals:
- Expand building footprint to create adequate kitchen and back-of-house space
- Add a dual-lane drive-thru canopy to accommodate high drive-thru volume and improve throughput
- Upgrade all structural, masonry, concrete, roofing, and interior systems (including freezer/cooler, custom millwork, flooring, and finishes)
- Modernize the dining and service areas for improved customer experience and efficient operations
- Complete renovations effectively to allow timely reopening and minimize negative impact on business
Solution & Execution
Woodbine’s renovation plan addressed all critical elements:
- Constructed a
dual-lane canopy for the drive-thru to enhance capacity and service speed.
- Executed a
building addition, expanding kitchen/back-of-house, storage, and service areas.
- Completed
structural work including concrete and masonry as needed for the expansion and renovation.
- Upgraded
interior finishes, flooring, roofing, custom millwork, and installed new kitchen equipment including freezer/cooler and service doors (bi-parting quick-serve door).
- Overhauled
back-of-house areas, ensuring compliance with modern standards for food service, storage, and workflow.
- Managed project efficiently to support reopening: the facility closed for renovation and reopened after renovation around mid-July 2024.
Results & Impact
- The renovated restaurant now supports much higher
drive-thru throughput and kitchen capacity — improving service speed and customer satisfaction.
- Updated, modern interiors and finishes enhance the dining experience and align the location with current brand standards for aesthetic and functionality.
- The dual-lane drive-thru and expanded kitchen/back-of-house allow Chick-fil-A to better accommodate increased customer demand.
- The remodel demonstrates Woodbine Construction's ability to handle full-service restaurant upgrades — from structural and civil work to interior finishes and kitchen outfitting — establishing reliability and expertise in hospitality construction.
